Yes that's right folks! It's that time of the year again - the YO Summer Meet 2008. Who? Everyone is invited - regardless of how often you play games these days. We will ask that only over 18's sign up seeing as there will be plenty of time spent in establishments of beverage consumation (pubs). What? A weekend of pasties, beer and good old-fashioned fun. Where? London. More specifically - Covent Garden. We'll meet in this pub, located above a lovely pasty shop, called The Cove.  Map here. More detailed directions coming soon. As for accommodation, most of us will be staying in some student halls of residence which is situated right in Covent Garden and is also relatively cheap for London - about £30 a room for bed & breakfast. High Holborn Halls website. When? Saturday 16th August 2008 to Sunday 17th August 2008. Meet in the Clove at around 1pm on Saturday. People are welcome to come down for the whole weekend, a day or a few hours - but if you can make it then please do because it's great fun! Why? Because it's bloody good fun! We suggest that if you'd like to come along, you book your travel tickets and hotel room ASAP so it will hopefully be cheaper. Discuss this topic and see who's confirmed in this thread. Following our long-standing tradition, it's April Fools time and we're making a news post about shutting down a server... this time it's Team Fortress 2, which after months of going unused is stepping aside to make way for a Pirates, Vikings and Knights server. Download the game from one of the official site's mirrors, and hop onto the (hopefully more popular than TF2) YO Clan server @ 85.236.98.56:27025  |

Following a chat on our NS forum, a new map pack has been installed on the Classic server. It is available for download HERE and the new maps should (if I have pressed all the correct buttons) appear every so often in the voting menu at the end of each map. The new maps are : ns_achio ns_enceladus ns_hulk ns_rampage ns_rust Enjoy. Edit: these maps have now been removed |

 Ladies and Gentlemen, that time has come again! Between the 14th (Friday) and 30th (Sunday) of this month, we are holding another 3on3 Wombat Combat cup. The good news is; this time it's public and everyone can sign up. Get your team of 4 together (3 players and 1 sub) and post your team name and its members in this thread. If you can't be bothered arranging a team yourself, just say you want to take part so people can recruit you. Depending on how many "leftovers" we get of single attendants, we'll either create teams among them or make them official cup-mercs. The actual length and scale of the cup will be dependent on how many teams sign up, although we're hoping to get enough to create a couple of groups and have the top 2 of each play it out in playoffs/finals. Match times will be dynamic (during reasonable hours), meaning every team will have to play X (say, 5) matches in a week and you and your opponents will be able to decide on your own match schedule based on a time table with potential dates we'll set up. Maps played will be default co_ maps. Anything else important (e.g. rules) will be announced before the cup starts. Prizes haven't been decided on yet but they will be totally eastery awesome for sure. Oh, and just imagine all the e-fame you'll receive. Any more questions? Yes that's right folks: YO TF2 Nights are coming soon! Who? Everyone! Anyone and everyone is invited to join in. You won't need to be a YO NS Reg and you won't need to apply or sign up - just join the server and play with your YO Community friends! What? YO TF2 Nights will hopefully become a regular event designed to get us all together, having fun, playing a different game and perhaps meeting new friends and community members. Where? On the YO TF2 server of course! At: yoclan.com:27025 (85.236.98.56:27025). When? We don't have a date for the first TF2 Night but they should be held on Tuesday evenings (around 7pm to 10pm UK time). Why? Why the hell not? :P Discuss here. |
